Huatan Farmer’s Association is working toward cultivating a safe, chemical-free sustainable agriculture and developing jasmine products. To ensure safety of all products, the association have all of them tested by SGS labs. Behind the high testing costs is the association’s original intention and insistence on “offering safe, quality, and pesticide-free jasmine products to customers.”
Welcome to Huatan, the hometown of pesticide-free jasmine.
Huatan Township in Changhua County, where climate and soil are suitable for cultivating jasmine, has been dubbed the “Hometown of Jasmine” after the flowers were introduced to the township in the 1960s. Challenged by cheaper imported jasmine in recent years, the fragrance of jasmine under Baguashan had been gradually fading.
Huatan Farmer’s Association has taken the lead in industrial transformation, guiding local farmers to adopt safe and pesticide-free farming, and develop chemical free jasmine products. In 2013, the association renovated a 75-year-old barn into the Jasmine Huatan Pavilion of Dreams. As the only jasmine-themed pavilion in Taiwan, the venue is open to visitors all year round.
